CERAMIC
TILES

|
Ceramic tiles are manufactured from clay, then normally glazed and kiln fired at high temperatures. They are water resistant, hard wearing and easily cleaned. This makes them an ideal choice for either the wall or floor of the kitchen and bathroom. |
PORCELAIN
TILES

|
Porcelain tiles are a more dense and higher quality tile than ceramic. This makes them very strong, easy to maintain and exceptionally durable. They are suitable for use in hallways, kitchens and other areas subject to higher levels of abrasion. There are an extensive range of designs and surface finishes. Choose a PEI rated 3 tile for the hallway or kitchen area. |
TRAVERTINE
TILES

|
Travertine tiles are a form of limestone which vary in density, porosity and hardness. They are available in warm earthy colours of brown and beige and in various sizes and surface finishes (polished, honed, tumbled, brushed). They can give a room a lovely feeling of warmth and softness. |
GRANITE
TILES

|
Granite is extremely hard wearing and scratch resistant and is used for kitchen worktops and floors and walls externally as well as internally. The structure of the material makes it resistant to extremes of temperature. It can be supplied polished, honed, or flamed and brushed depending on the application. Polished Granite is the most popular. The polishing process seals the surface and helps to keep it low maintenance. Honed granite has a mat finish and can be used for floors and stairs or any area subject to higher levels of foot traffic. Flamed and Brushed Granite has a textured charcoal grey coloured surface suitable for a use in wet areas. |
MOSAIC
TILES

|
Mosaics can be used internally or externally and on walls and floors of kitchens, bathrooms, wet-rooms, showers and swimming pools. They are made from glass, ceramic or natural stone and can be supplied with a slip resistant surface for use in wet areas. Mosaic pieces are reflective or iridescent and because mosaic tiles are supplied in flexible sheets they can be curved to bath panels, shower plinths or columns. |
GLASS
TILES

|
Because glass tiles are so versatile and come in a wide range of colours they are perfect for traditional and modern homes indoors or outdoors. They compliment natural stone and ceramic tiling and the thinner tiles are perfect on there own for larger areas or used with thinner ceramic tiles. |
LIMESTONE
TILES

|
Limestone comes in large slabs or tiles and is suitable for walls and floors. There are a wide selection of colours available which will add warmth, charm and sophistication to any interior. It is available in various surface textures suited to either the contemporary or traditional property including honed, brushed and tumbled. Good quality hard wearing limestone which is low in porosity should be selected for kitchen
areas and wet-rooms. |
SLATE
TILES

|
Slates are very durable and resistant to acids which make them well suited for use in the kitchen, entrance halls, conservatories, patios and other areas of high traffic. They are available with a riven or smooth surface finish and can be used both internally and externally. |
QUARRY TILES
|
Quarry tiles
are a building construction material, usually 13 to 19 mm in thickness, made by the extrusion process from natural clay or shale.
Traditional quarry tiles are unglazed and either red or grey in colour. However, modern "decorator" tiles come in a variety of tints and finishes. Industrial quarry tiles
are available with abrasive frit embedded in the surface to provide a non-slip finish in wet areas such as commercial kitchens and laboratories.
Quarry tiles are extensively used for floors where a very durable material is required.
They can be used either indoors or outdoors, although freeze-resistant grades
should be used outdoors in climates where freeze-thaw action occurs. Quarry tiles
are used less often as a wall finish and are occasionally used for countertops, although the wide grout joints can make cleaning of countertops difficult.
