CERAMIC
TILES

|
Ceramic tiles are made from thin layers of fired clay.
They can be used for walls and floors. They are one of the most
durable and attractive tiles available. Being
water resistant makes them an excellent choice for kitchen
or bathroom. |
PORCELAIN
TILES

|
Porcelain tiles are one of the most durable, versatile
and cost effective flooring solutions available. It is now
possible to have natural stone without the problems and
cost, plus an extensive range of designs and surface
finishes, which all share porcelain's intrinsic strength,
ease of maintenance, hygiene and durability. |
TRAVERTINE
TILES

|
Travertine tiles are a very dense form of Calcium
Carbonate and although a limestone, travertine tiles are
more usually considered as a marble. This low porosity stone
comes in various sizes including random flagstone sizes.
There are several types of finish available so this
versatile material can suit almost any application from
"rustic" to contemporary. |
GRANITE
TILES

|
Granite tiles
are as old as the earth. They are formed from liquid
magma, the molten rock still found at the core of the earth. Granite
has a
very dense grain and is the hardest of all building stones, making it
almost impervious and applicable for any interior use. Granite
can be used for floors and
walls and kitchen worktops offering an elegant and practical solution to many
design issues. |
MOSAIC
TILES

|
Mosaics are pictures or designs made by placing
pieces of glass, ceramic, marble or mirror into a bed of cement or plaster. Artists have created mosaics for over 4,000 years. Often, mosaics are used on floors or on
panels inside or outside. They can be both practical and
spectacular. A special
feature is that the pieces are normally solid and durable
and reflective or iridescent. |
GLASS
TILES

|
The essence of glass tiles lies in their versatility.
They are ideal for traditional properties as well as modern
homes. The thicker tiles are ideal to compliment stone and
high quality ceramic tiles, whilst the slimmer tiles are
perfect for coverage of larger areas in glass alone or
teamed with thinner ceramic tiles. |
LIMESTONE
TILES

|
Limestone tiles are a truly natural flooring option. They
are formed by crystallisation of water or by the
accumulation of shell and shell fragments. Limestone tiles
are usually light coloured, however with impurities such as
iron oxides and organic materials they can take on a variety
of colours and surface markings. They are without doubt
gaining popularity as a sophisticated flooring material
offering the timeless qualities only possible with natural
materials. |
SLATE
TILES

|
Rustic slates
are available with a riven surface to create
that traditional farmhouse effect or a very smooth finish to give you that natural feeling without the riven
texture. Slate is suitable for both commercial and
residential areas such as kitchens, conservatories and
patios. Most of the tiles are suitable for use internally
and externally. Once sealed they will only require
an
occasional cleaning with a light detergent. A
stone or slate floor will last a lifetime. |
QUARRY TILES
|
Quarry tiles
are a building construction material, usually 13 to 19 mm in thickness, made by the extrusion process from natural clay or shale.
Traditional quarry tiles are unglazed and either red or grey in colour. However, modern "decorator" tiles come in a variety of tints and finishes. Industrial quarry tiles
are available with abrasive frit embedded in the surface to provide a non-slip finish in wet areas such as commercial kitchens and laboratories.
Quarry tiles are extensively used for floors where a very durable material is required.
They can be used either indoors or outdoors, although freeze-resistant grades
should be used outdoors in climates where freeze-thaw action occurs. Quarry tiles
are used less often as a wall finish and are occasionally used for countertops, although the wide grout joints can make cleaning of countertops difficult. |
